Seven questions, seven answers, Tara Bernerd’s world right now.
- Favourite restaurant right now
It’s more than just the exquisite food, it’s the atmosphere. Enrico Buonocore’s latest Langosteria is the most seductive and inviting space. Chic to the core, effortless Milanese style that echoes the feel of an exclusive club and beyond the layers of design detail and the most fabulous chairs is some of the finest food. It has a very particular charm and the most wonderful team.

2. Favourite hotel
The Mark Hotel NYC for a city stay, Izak Senbahar’s Upper East side gem is a genuine home-from-home. From the moment you arrive, the team make you feel completely welcome and at home, it’s intimate, stylish yet with an understated elegance, which makes it my New York go to.
3. Currently enjoying
Currently enjoying learning Italian!

4. Currently reading
Having just reread the Fountainhead, I am now embarking upon Ayn Rand’s “Atlas Shrugged”, recommended to me because of a compelling main character Dagny Taggart. However, early days with this classic!

5. Currently watching
With my constant travel my iPad is not only filled with work, but every new show, what I watch varies. I recently watched The Pitt, not one for hospital shows particularly, it was brilliantly done and now have just started Beef Season 2, which is definitely entertaining.
6. Currently designing
Currently we are designing some extraordinary hotels and residences. This allows me to travel and dive into so many different cultures. Having just returned from Japan, where we are working on an incredible project opposite Mount Fuji, embracing all the local artisans, I am equally excited for new projects in West Palm Beach! Close to my heart is our work in Milan and the imminent of Six Senses Hotel Milan in the heart of Brera.

7. Currently obsessing over
Currently obsessing over expanding homeware collection for my role at Frette. As Creative Design Partner for Frette, this year we are building on our core collection of throws and cushions, introducing tableware and sculptural objects. Working with a heritage brand such as Frette has allowed us to capture the detail and from linen tableware to weighty throws and now an array of sculptural containers and trays in lacquer, walnut and leather, I have fallen in love with the collection and expanding it.
