In the heart of Chiswick, timeless elegance meets considered craftsmanship in a kitchen that masterfully balances refined design with modern family life. Created by Kaizen Furniture in collaboration with Studio Ashby, Studio Lord, and Candor Construction, this bespoke kitchen exemplifies what happens when understated luxury is guided by intentional living.

The project, shortlisted for the Kitchen Design Over £100,000 Award in the 2025 International Design & Architecture Awards, was born from a long-standing client relationship and a deeply personal brief, to design a kitchen that could be both the heart of the home and a space for elegant entertaining.

Subtle French design influences are woven throughout, from the intricately panelled cabinetry to the presence of a statement Lacanche range. The overall tone is soft yet confident, with the materials palette drawing on natural stone, oak, and brushed brass. A concealed bar offers a contemporary edge, discreetly tucked away behind cabinetry, a detail that speaks to the art of modern hosting.

Studio Ashby’s touch is immediately felt in the layering of textures and tonal warmth, while Studio Lord shaped the architectural framework with quiet intelligence. The kitchen flows effortlessly into its surroundings, designed not as a standalone feature, but as part of the rhythm of everyday life, from weekday breakfasts to candlelit evenings with friends.

Function and beauty sit in seamless dialogue here. Every detail has been considered to reflect the pace and rituals of a young family, while never compromising on the elevated design language expected from a studio of this calibre.

As kitchens continue to evolve into dynamic living spaces, this project offers a blueprint for what truly modern luxury can look like, calm, characterful, and quietly bold.
