A new chapter begins in the Algarve as Accor confirms its management takeover of the Victoria Golf Resort & Spa in Vilamoura, with plans to rebrand the property under the prestigious Fairmont Hotels & Resorts portfolio. The landmark 260-room resort, just 30 minutes from Faro International Airport, is poised for a full transformation through a comprehensive property improvement plan, with the rebranding set to complete by 2026. Once finalised, it will mark Fairmont’s debut property in Portugal, an elegant fusion of world-class hospitality and local cultural heritage, positioned in one of Europe’s most sought-after coastal destinations.

Omer Acar, CEO of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, captured the sentiment perfectly, describing Vilamoura as “full of life and energy”, and an “ideal fit” for Fairmont. The resort’s exceptional setting, home to the famed Victoria Golf Course, host of the Portugal Masters, alongside its proximity to pristine beaches, luxury retail, and a vibrant marina, makes it a natural addition to the Fairmont family. The management shift, in partnership with Arrow Global Group, reflects a strategic move to enhance the positioning of Vilamoura within the luxury leisure, sports, and hospitality ecosystem.

The newly reimagined resort will boast four restaurants, four bars, four swimming pools, a 900-sqm wellness centre, a state-of-the-art gym, six treatment rooms, a kids’ club, and access to neighbouring golf courses. The property will also feature refined conference spaces for up to 700 guests, designed with tailored service and elegant finishes to meet the growing demand for high-end events in Southern Europe. With every detail curated to blend international luxury with regional charm, the project is as much about elevating experience as it is about setting a new benchmark for resort living in the Algarve.

Accor’s management under white label during the transition ensures seamless alignment with Fairmont’s iconic brand values, while celebrating the essence of place, a perfect symphony of global excellence and local authenticity.
