Franco’s London: Timeless Italian Dining and One of London’s Most Elegant Terraces

With its unmistakable green awnings on Jermyn Street and a legacy that spans back to 1945, Franco’s London remains one of London’s most cherished Italian institutions. Set in the heart of St. James’s, the restaurant is a cornerstone of timeless hospitality, offering an elegant escape that captures the essence of refined European dining, now made all the more appealing with the terrace open for spring and summer.

The restaurant recently marked the return of its much-loved annual Rosé Party, this year celebrating its 20th edition. A hallmark of the season, the event welcomed guests for an evening of live entertainment, curated canapés, and over 60 rosé wines from around the world, served al fresco on Franco’s iconic terrace. The evening was a vibrant reminder of Franco’s flair for blending tradition with a celebratory spirit, all while maintaining an air of classic sophistication.

With the terrace now open, guests can enjoy al fresco dining at its finest. Whether stopping by for a leisurely lunch or sipping an early evening aperitif, Franco’s offers one of the most elegant outdoor settings in the capital. The rosé menu, expertly selected by Head Sommelier Paolo Pellegrino, remains a seasonal highlight, perfectly complementing the Italian dishes that have long made Franco’s a favourite among discerning diners.

The menu reflects the same careful attention to detail that defines the space, beautifully executed plates such as Linguine with Lobster, Octopus Carpaccio with Fennel & Orange, and Pan-fried Seabass with herb gnocchi, followed by indulgent classics like Tiramisu or Calvados-poached Pears. Whether inside the dining room or out on the terrace, Franco’s continues to deliver a quietly confident dining experience, effortlessly elegant, seasonally led, and unmistakably London.
